I remember girls coming to elementary school in their Girl Scout uniforms and being really jealous of their cute matching outfits and cool badges. They were a part of a "club" and everyone knew it because they displayed it proudly. The part of me that was jealous is gone now, partially because I'm an adult but partially because I earned my own "adult merit badge" this past Sunday. I completed my first half marathon! Yes, indeed, I did and I still have two working legs! Amazing!
I competed in the
Rex Healthcare Half Marathon on Sunday. It started to drizzle when we started at 7am. At mile 2 (out of 13.1) I noticed drops of water falling off the brim of my hat. By mile 5, it was all out pouring. Definitely not the conditions I trained in. Nonetheless, I completed it and lived to tell about it! I may not have a sash but I still wear my badge with pride!
